A half century ago people didn't have the dental knowledge they do today and didn't thane good dental hygiene. The result was poor oral health with the requirement of more severe dental treatment more often. Dentists focused on treatment not prevention.
At Dental Corner Hawaii, we want our patients to have healthy oral health. Our goal for every patient would be to never need even a filling. This, of course, is not possible. But we can help you achieve the highest level of your own, personal oral health.
Things you can do to maintain and improve your oral health.
Brush after every meal or at least twice a day
Use a toothbrush with soft bristles to avoid enamel loss
Floss at least once a day
Drink tap water which contains fluoride helping prevent tooth decay
If you have dentures, clean them thoroughly daily
Quit smoking. Smoking increases problems with gum disease, tooth decay and tooth loss
Visit your dentist regularly. Dental Corner Hawaii recommends twice a year for most people
